Useful handle material – G10 handle

The G10 handle is made of fiberglass epoxy resin. The fiberglass is soaked in epoxy resin and then heated and pressurized to form the desired shape.

The G10 handle material does not absorb water, so it is a very good waterproof material for use as a handle. Laminated materials are very durable and easy to shape and polish, so manufacturers can change the size of the handle by adding or removing layers of fiberglass material.

Another feature of G10 is that it has rich colors and various patterns. This is also a great advantage for it to be used as a knife handle material. From the shape of the handle to the color and size of the handle, manufacturers can easily provide a variety of options.

Strength:
The fiberglass is woven for extra durability and strength, making for a solid material.

Customization:
The fiberglass and epoxy can be made in almost any color, and the mesh can be woven in different ways to create some unique textures.

Low Maintenance:
Epoxy will not rust, oxidize, become brittle, or soften over time. This means it doesn’t require much maintenance, unlike traditional bone, wood, antler, or mother-of-pearl handles.

Many say G10 is the ideal material for knife handles because it’s lightweight, easy to work with, doesn’t expand or contract with temperature and moisture, and it’s very strong.
